METALLICA's 'Mystery' Artwork Updated Again

METALLICA has posted yet another updated version (see below) of the image that originally appeared on the band's official web site on Tuesday (June 10) under the headline "???." There is still no word as to what the image represents or whether it will form part of the cover artwork for the band's much-anticipated new studio album.

The CD is due out in September, with the title expected to be announced soon through the new Mission: Metallica web site.

METALLICA performed a "secret" show last night (Thursday, June 12) at The Basement in Nashville, Tennessee in front of an estimated 175 people.

The band will play Tennessee's Bonnaroo festival today (Friday, June 13) and the one-day Ozzfest in Dallas on August 9, with a full North American tour in the works for the fall.

Just one day after several UK web sites posted early reviews of six new METALLICA songs that were previewed for them in London last week, the reports were all taken down, reportedly at the request of the band's management. METALLICA has since issued a statement blaming a management "error" for the move and has apparently asked for the reviews to be re-posted.
